Loose Rug Cleaning

A rug being cleaned by a Chelsea Cleaning employeeAre your loose rugs and carpets looking tired and dirty? This could be due to anything from high traffic to bad weather to repeated spills. Instead of replacing your current carpets, why not revitalise them?

Chelsea Cleaning has over two decades experience in rug replenishment. Our friendly, trained and uniformed team will leave your loose rugs looking as good as the day you bought them.

Woollen rugs and flokatis

At Chelsea Cleaning, we begin by shaking woollen rugs and flokatis to remove loose dirt. Then we use the following process to ensure there's no shrinkage or fading:

  • treat each rug with a specialised stain remover (where necessary)
  • wash using cold water and minimal agitation
  • rinse and then spin gently, just to remove excess water
  • hang the rug and allow it to air-dry.

Kelims and durries

Chelsea Cleaning will determine the optimal way to clean your kelims and durries, depending on the material they're made from. Most often this involves shaking to remove loose dirt, using an appropriate stain remover to treat stains, dry-cleaning and then allowing to dry naturally.

Persian and oriental rugs

We also offer expert cleaning of loose Persian and oriential rugs. First we remove loose dirt and treat each rug with a suitable stain remover and non-residue carpet cleaner. Then we deep-clean, using a different process depending on whether your rug is made of wool, cotton, silk or synthetic fibres. Finally, we dry the rug in a centrifuge or allow it to air-dry, depending on its type.

We collect & deliver loose rugs promptly.
